Stockwell Good Neighbours are looking forward to the term ahead. We have some great events coming up over the next few months:
We were successfully awarded a grant to facilitate a weekly reading group on a Thursday at the Oval designed to build confidence and share some great classic stories together.
We are taking part in the Big Sing next week in September as part of World Peace day and together 56 older people at the Stockwell Good Neighbours will raise the roof of the Oval House singing “One Love” a Bob Marley favourite.
In October we are also taking part in an intergenerational Bread project with which will capture stories and reminiscences of bread making working with local artistes.
A new local enterprise scheme are looking at supporting our charity through the designing and selling of unique pieces of jewellery which will raise funds for the group.
In October this year we are celebrating our oldest members birthday. Mrs Agnus Smith will be 102 and our second oldest Mr Levi Hamilton will be 99 as well as 4 others all over 90. It is amazing and unique to have so many older people still active and engaged in their community and their much loved club!
